THE PRAYERS

MORNING OFFERING:

O my God, in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer the precious Blood of Jesus from all the alters throughout the world, joining it with the offering of my every thought, word and action of this day. O my Jesus, I desire to day to gain every indulgence and merit I can and I offer them, altogether with my self, to Mary Immaculate, that She may best apply them in the interests of Thy Most Sacred Heart. Precious Blood of Jesus, save us!

OUR FATHER:
Our Father, who art in Heaven; hallowed by Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen

HAIL MARY:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of god, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen

GLORY BE:
Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.

PRAYER FOR SOULS:

Eternal Father. I offer You the most Precious Blood of your Divine Son Jesus in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world today for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinner in the Universal Church, those in my own home and within my family (and friends). Amen .

PRAYER FOR PRIESTS:

O Jesus, I pray for Your faithful and fervent priests; for Your unfaithful and tepid priests; for Your priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields; for Your tempted priests; for Your lonely and desolate priests; for Your young priests; for Your dying priests; for the souls of Your priests in purgatory.
But above all I recommend to You the priests dearest to me; the priest who baptized me; the priests who absolved me from my sins; the priest at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion; the priests who taught and instructed me; all the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way.
O Jesus, keep them close to Your Heart, and bless them abundantly in time and in eternity. AMEN.

PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY:

Gracious Father, we pray to you for your Holy Catholic Church. Fill it with your truth. Keep it in your peace. Where it is corrupt, reform it. Where it is in error, correct it. Where it is right, defend it. Where it is in want, provide for it. Where it is divide, reunite it; for the sake of your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

PRAYER FOR PEACE AMONG NATIONS:

Almighty God our Heavenly Father, guide the nations of the world into the way of justice and truth, and establish among them that peace which is the fruit of righteousness, that they may become the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

PRAYER FOR PRIESTLY VOCATION:

Lord Jesus, Grant saintly priests to the world, priests who live close to ther Eucharist, who have a deep spiritual life, who work and suffer, yet with a joyful heart; priests who dedicate each minute of their lives for the salvation of souls and Your Kingdom. Amen.

PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL:

Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into Hell Satan and the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

BEFORE MASS:

PRAYER TO THE VIRGIN MARY

Mother of mercy and love, blessed Virgin Mary,
I am poor and unworthy
and I turn to you in confidence and love.
You stood by your Son
as he hung dying on the cross.
Stand also by me, and by all
who are offering Mass today
here and throughout the entire Church.
Help us to offer a perfect and acceptable sacrifice
in the sight of the holy and undivided Trinity,
our most high God. AMEN .

When unable to receive Holy Communion, it is a pious practice to make a Spiritual Communion.
Say the following prayer of St. Francis:

I believe that You, O Jesus, are in the most holy Sacrament. I love You and desire You. Come into my heart. I embrace You. Oh, never leave me. May the burning and most sweet power of Your love, O Lord Jesus Christ, I beseech You, absorb my mind that I may die through love of Your love, Who were graciously pleased to die through love of my love. Amen.

or prayer of St. Alphonsus de'Liguori:

My Jesus! I believe that Thou art truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. I love Thee above all things, and I desire to possess Thee within my soul. Since I am unable to receive heart. I embrace Thee as being already there, and unite myself wholly to Thee. Never permit me to be separated from Thee. Amen.

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy.
Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy.
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love only what is holy.
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.
Guard me, O Holy Spirit, so that I may always be holy.
